THE MISS HAZELWOOD LEGEND

A long, long time ago,The god of wood, and Hazel, the goddess of the Rosy Fingered Morn, were wed. The union was blessed with eight sons: Mike, Jerry,Andy,George,Bob,Randalita,Joe, and Scotty. As the eldest, Mikey was granted the title Miss Hazelwood No.1 and he assigned to each brother a permanent grant of great force and power. To Jerry was assigned the blustery North Wind. To Andy was granted control of the irresponsible East Wind. To George was given custody of the bountiful West Wind. To Bob was presented the balmy South Wind.To Randalitta was promised the moon,The sun was promised to Joe,The stars were promised to Scotty

The brothers cavorted gaily over the Towns and villages.

Wood, while on his extensive travels, came upon a paradise known as Minnesota. He paused to behold the enchanting beauty of a magnificent group of gently sloping hills in whose embrace nestled a beautiful city. Wood whistled in sheer ecstasy. "A Historic Town and her hills! An ideal place.I will Rename it Hazelwoood, the capital of all my domains. It will henceforth be emblazoned to the world as the playground of the realm of Woods.

Undaunted, Wood proclaimed a celebration in the spirit of gay Carnival. "So be it!" shouted Wood. "There will be a Carnival in Webster For my sons to perform as Miss Hazelwood!" Preparations were made in all the Principalities, Provinces, and Royal Houses within the Realm of Hazelwood.

And so for 2 glorious days there was a Carnival and joyous celebration in Webster, feasting, dancing, fun and frolic reigned over by Wood and his Queen, the fairest maiden of the realm, along with the four Winds who were each accompanied by a lovely Princess from the realm of Wood. Webster Harvest Days Queen, a lady of song and merriment, added her sassy but enchanting voice to the festivities by singing songs of desire and sentiment.

Senior King , Queen of the Webster, and their court contributed good will and wisdom, while Junior Prince and Princess, with their court, add youthful exuberance to the festival.

On the third day of celebration. Upon the good council of his Queen, Wood bade farewell to the people of his capital in the interest of peace and goodwill and returned to dwell among the gods of Hazelwood. Wood and his Court looked forward to the time when summer's warmth would once again relinquish its hold on the realm and the frosty atmosphere of Harvest Season would prevail.
